High speed diesel engine oils

Shell Sirius Oils are premium quality high performance engine lubricants designed to meet the demanding requirements of a very wide range of high speed (>1200 rpm) marine diesel engines operating under all conditions and burning distillate fuels having a sulphur content of up to 1.0% wt.

Applications

Highly rated high-speed diesel engines operating on distillate fuel, especially in:

   high load or overload operations (e.g. fishing trawlers)

   where fuels with a sulphur content of

     up to 1.0 % wt. are in use

Performance Features

   A true universal lubricant

     Fulfills not only a comprehensive list of specifications to satisfy the many different and demanding requirements of a very  wide range of engine manufacturers, but also achieves the high performance levels required in transmission systems.

   Outstanding engine cleanliness

     Formulated to give a carefully balanced combination of detergency and dispersancy to ensure outstanding engine cleanliness.  Contains insolubles in suspension thus preventing formation of harmful deposits in areas of low lubricant flow.

     Specially suited for use where there is no lubricant centrifuge treatment facility.

   Superior wear control

     Has the toughness to maintain a protective oil film between pistons and their rings and cylinder walls, even under the highest operating temperatures and pressures.  Wear of all engine parts such as piston rings, valves, camshafts and bearings is reduced to a minimum so that engine efficiency is maintained and engine life extended.

 Excellent oxidation resistance

     Unusually good thermal stability and oxidation resistance built in.  The lubricant is therefore especially suited for marine diesel engines operating at high piston temperatures, including both naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines.

Shell Sirius Oils are approved for use by more high speed diesel engine manufacturers than any other single marine lubricant.

They exceed the requirements of:

Health & Safety

Shell Sirius Oils are unlikely to present any significant health or safety hazard when properly used in the recommended application, and good standards of industrial and personal hygiene are maintained.

Avoid contact with skin.  Use impervious gloves with used oil.  After skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water.
