Shell Omala RL Oils, based on the highest quality synthetic (PAO) hydrocarbons, are blended for the lubrication of bearings and gears operating in severe duty conditions. Carefully selected additives are incorporated to ensure lubrication performance far superior to that provided by conventional petroleum mineral oils.

Shell Omala RL Oils are available in ISO 150, 220 and 460 viscosity grades.

APPLICATIONS

ƒ    Enclosed and lightly loaded industrial reduction gear systems subjected to severe operating conditions, such as high temperatures, wide temperature variations and long oil servicing intervals.

used in systems designed for use with conventional mineral oils.

ƒ    Change-Over Procedure – Shell Omala RL Oils are compatible with petroleum mineral oils and other polyalphaolefin

lubricants. To achieve the full benefit of Shell Omala RL Oils, equipment should be cleaned and flushed to minimize the

contamination with other lubricants. After switching equipment over to a new synthetic lubricant, we recommend monitoring the system as the synthetic lube can clean up deposits left by mineral oils. Please contact your Shell Representative or the
